The 3rd Asian Vegetarian conference is to be held in Kao hsiung, Taiwan. The venue is Shen Wei Temple! I-Kuan Tao Association is hosting this year's conference! The theme for this year's conference is - "The Spiritual Perspective on Vegetarianism"

I have heard from our elders that the representatives of the International Vegetarian Union were choosing a location for the conference when they chanced upon Taiwan. Although the number of vegetarians in Taiwan is lower in compared with non-vegetarians, the practise of vegetarianism is of the most well developed. You can find virtually any meat replacements. They were amazed by the practise of vegetarianism in Taiwan and when they visited Shen Wei temple, they were taken over by the majestic complex. Hence, they have chosen Taiwan to be the hosting country and Shen Wei Temple to be the venue.

I went to watch the "200 Pounds Beauty" with my friends on Labour's Day (1 May) for our midnight show.

It is a humourous movie, The story is simple, a woman who is overweight and unattractive, yet has a warm heart, becomes an almost perfect beauty via extensive plastic surgery. Most of the more amusing scenes are about how people treat her differently.

The movie keeps its own identity as a comedy throughout the 2 hour show. It cleverly touches people's heart and mind, but doesn't forget to make you laugh. 200 Pounds Beauty shows in funny ways, what could happen to someone if they receive such an extreme makeover. Like the scene when Jenny and Sang-June are finally getting intimate with each other. When he tries to kiss her, she couldn't have that moment out of fear for her new surgically altered nose. She is also worried about her enlarged breasts and what he would think of her if he knew they were implants.

We are living in a society where external beauty is important. Sadly, few people pay much attention to "internal beauty" I guess going through an extreme make over do is not everything in our life. While we may gain beauty, we may at the same time lost ourselves. It is sad that one's internal beauty can only discover when one becomes beautiful.  Not everyone is blessed with beauty. What is more important is to enhanced your internal beauty. Beauty without connotation is like a car without driver. One day, we will lost ourselves and destroy our lives.

Beatrice was at a coffeeshop when a cat suddenly jumped onto the basin. The feline got herself into position and did her wee-wee. The cat still try to kick mudto cover her poo. I guess the cat needs to learn how to use the tap instead.  Watch the video for the amazing animal antic!
